The Veteran Horse Society was launched from Warwickshire in 2001 and opened the beautiful farm in St Dogmaels, Ceredigion Wales in October 2001.
The centre is run by Julianne Aston who works hard to keep the horses in her care in good health. She provides an information service for people with older horses, and promotes veteran horse events, most notably Olympia.
Champions Farm was opened in July 2005 as a rehabilitation centre, in the Kent countryside.
The Veteran Horse Society take in veterans suffering from neglect and cruelty and rehabilitate them, giving each of these animals another chance at the life they deserve. However, this much needed service for the elderly equine does not come cheap and the Veteran Horse Society relies greatly on the support of its members, donations and its showing department.
The society has given veterans all over the country a new lease of life and an opportunity to compete at the VHS final held at Olympia, in London each year.
